Discovered by Tony Hutchins and Jordi Hidalgo: When program memory consists of at least 260 lines, the instructins GTO n-255 through GTO 255 cause an Error 4, n being the last allocated line: 260, 267, ... 393, 400 (but not 399). In the Fall of 2005, they started producing models with parentheses keys. There was no change in model number. Notes:: (Much of the following by Jordi Hidalgo. Datafile V22N3p8-11) Algebraic mode has no precedence. It also has no parentheses. On the other hand, RPN stack operations work in this mode. Registers don't start getting converted to program memory until after step 310. There are also 10 new cash flow registers, CF21 through CF30. They are converted to program memory for steps 240 through 309. Storage register arithmetic is still only possible with registers 0 to 4. The source code to the 12 software was lost and this is a reimplementation. Some things are faster, some are slower, and accuracy is sometimes less. For example, f CLAR-FIN n=10 PV=100 PMT=-20 solve for i takes 15 seconds on the -12C but 40 seconds on the 12CPt. Re-solving for i takes 4 seconds on the -12C but still 40 seconds on the 12CPt Manufactured by Kinpo Electronics. Tony Hutchins reports that LSTx in ALG mode works in this way: - LSTx LSTx leaves the stack unchanged. - L is only refreshed when a new calculation begins with a digit. A change in the keyboard was made in late 2005 to add parenthses keys. The early (non-parentheses version) also had a very poor solver: both keys and solver were fixed. The newer version had backspace and undo keys. 25th Anniversary edition, the 12CPA, to be released in mid- to late-2006. A version called the HP12c Prestige was released in Brazil (and possibly other parts of South America) only on or around 2006-04-16. The bezel was gold and it said "Prestige" instead of "Platinum." This was the updated version of the 12cpt, with parentheses. The "gold" shift was orange.
